Vocalist and
keyboardist David Chaidez has been working in and around the Bay Area as a professional
musician for several years. A native of San Jose, David received his B.A. in Jazz/World
Music Studies from San Jose State University in 2002. Before going to university,
he studied music for three years at the School For Music Vocations in Creston,
Iowa and received a degree in professional music in 1998. During his extensive
studies and gigging, David has had the chance to perform as a featured soloist
at several prestigious venues, including the 2000 Nice Jazz Festival in France
and the 2002 Monterey Jazz Festival. David's musical tastes and talents
are extremely varied. He's been "featured" as a soloist in salsa groups,
soul bands, and classical ensembles. In 2002, he formed the Brazilian trio Agua
Na Boca which performed around the South Bay regularly for three years. Currently,
David is working with a new group, the David Chaidez Quintet. (more)
